William C. "Bill" Edgemon

EDGEMON, WILLIAM C. "BILL", age 87, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009.  Born on June 10, 1921 in Huntsville, AL.  He was preceded in death by his father, David L. Edgemon; his mother, Pinnie Etta Berryhill Edgemon; brother, J.E. Edgemon; sister, Dorothy Edgemon Middleton; infant son, William C. Edgemon, Jr.; and loving wife, Alma Trapp Edgemon.  He is survived by his brother, James H. Edgemon, Huntsville, AL; son, James H. "Scrappy" Edgemon (Leslie); two grandchildren, Clayton Harrison Edgemon, and Cody Martin Edgemon, all of Point Clear, AL.  Mr. Edgemon was raised in the Dailes Mill community in Huntsville, AL.  He graduated from the Rison School and served in the United States Army Air Corp in the European theater during WWII.  In 1950 he moved to Jasper, AL where he managed radio station WWWB for 37 years until his retirement in 1987.  Visitation will be Sunday, February 1, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsvile, AL.  A graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, AL, immediatly thereafter.  Kilgore-Green Funeral Home, Jasper, AL, directing.
