We hope all of you are finding the year 2016 fruitful and prosperous! 

We have now identified over 16,300 descendants and spouses, about  700 more than reported last May.    

A report on the email verification test run to check the email addresses of Burkett family members receiving notices about the web site.  Messages were sent to 139 addresses throughout the US plus Australia, Ireland and Switzerland.  9 addresses were determined to be no longer valid.   77 persons replied and confirmed their addresses.  Altogether the replies accounted for 62% of the addresses checked.  Not to bad - but one wonders about the 38% for whom we received no response.  If you did not verify your address earlier, please do so now by simply hitting the "reply" and "send" button on your email system

One New Feature Added in June

One new features added since our last message in May, It was added in June so in a way it is not really new.  That feature is entitles "The Henry Burkett Family of Tennessee".  This is a collection of photos compiled by Oliver Webb.  This feature mimics the FlipAlbum^®  CD prepared by Oliver some time ago.   Many photos are available here.

 + Family Group Records

Each and every single family group record has was rebuilt as of Jan 2, 2016.  These new family group records show the items described above.  While some new individuals and some new families have been added, it may be difficult to note the differences unless are particularly familiar with the family.

Other updates

Nearly every other page on the web site continues to  be updated with some new information.  You will need to check out these pages to see what the additions have been.  The Links index shows the latest dates each section has been modified or revised.  You are also highly encouraged to visit the Family News page regularly as it is modified often and may contain information of particular interest.  

Family Reunions:  

We have typically have two Family Reunions scheduled for each summer; the Burkett Family Reunion in Alabama in June and the Murray Family Reunion in Texas in July.  This is the information about these reunions that we know about at this time.
