Bertha Barker Burkett Honey Grove Signal-Citizen, October 10, 1969, page 1
Mrs. Bertha Jane Burkett of Route 3, Honey Grove died at 10:20 o'clock Wednesday night at Lamar Medical Center, Paris, after a one day illness. A native of Lindsay, Arkansas, Mrs. Burkett was born Dec. 26, 1902, the daughter of Thomas J. Barker and Ollie Pavey Burkett. She was married first on March 2, 1922, to David Holloway and following his death she was married to Levi Burkett. She was a barber. Survivors include her husband, Levi Burkett; a son, Eddie Ray Isaacs of New York City, N. Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Jack Ludy of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Davenport of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Gerea Hull of Houston; two brothers, Tommie Barker of Modesto, Calif., and Randles M. Wilson of Watsonville, Cal.; and eight grandchildren. Cooper-Sorrells transferred the body to Owens Funeral Home in Wichita Falls for services and interment. Interment was made in Crestview Cemetery there. |
