William Charles Crowe

William Charles Crowe, Poplar Bluff business man, church and civic leader, died at his home there Monday night, December 5, after an illness of about three months. The Crowe family, formerly lived in this city, going to Poplar Bluff to make their home in 1951. He was born May 7, 1915 and ws married on June 11, 1941 to Mary Metz in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Crowe is an English teacher in the high school there. A salesman for Stratton Terstagge Hardware Company, he was a member of the Presbyterian church and had served as an elder and the board of trustees. He was a past president of the Poplar Bluff Lions Club and was a veteran of World War II. In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters, May Jean, Ann and Betty. of the home; and two brothers, J.E. and Melvin Crowe. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Poplar Bluff, Thursday morning, with burial in City Cemetery.
