Mrs. Heard Dies at 77

    BIG SPRING (RNS) -- Mrs. G. W. Heard, 77, died at 4:25 a.m. Thursday in a local hospital.

    Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the River - Welch Funeral Chapel with Perry Cotham, minister of the Main Street Church of Christ, officiating.  Graveside rites will be in Baird Cemetery at 5 p.m.

    Born in Llano County, March 23, 1890, she moved to Sweetwater in 1933 and to Big Spring in 1936.  She married G. W. Heard Jan. 20, 1914, in Baird.  He died July 10, 1961.

    Survivors include one son, Vernon of Big Spring; one brother, John Burkett of O'Donnell, two granddaughters, Marsha Lynn and Brenda Kay Heard, both of Big Spring.

    Pallbearers will be D. W. Pierce,  W. W. Stroup, O. B. Kirby, Avery Faulkner, Jim McWhorter and R. L. Christenson.
