MERKEL — Funeral services for Virgil Dean Purser former Trent resident will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Jones, pastor of First Baptist Church of Merkel, officiating. Mr. Purser, 42, of Ft. Worth, was found dead early Tuesday morning in a South Fort Worth apartment from a stab wound to the chest. Burial will be in the Garden of Memory in Trent. Born July 29, 1927, in Nolan County, he lived in Trent several years before moving to Fort Worth. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Purser of Abilene, his mother, Mrs. Faye Purser of Trent; two sons, Randall Purser of Midland and Larry Purser stationed with the United States Army in Germany; one daughter, Mrs. Linda Orr of Smithville; three brothers, H. A. Purser of Lampasas, Kenneth Purser of Merkel and Billy Joe Purser of San Angelo; and two sisters, Mrs. James Canady of Trent and Mrs. Mack Bigbee of Merkel. |
