Mrs. Cassie Smith Dies In Vernon

VERNON, Tex. (Special) -- Mrs. Cassie Smith, 81, a lifetime resident of Vernon, died Saturday Evening in a Vernon Convalescent Home.

Her residence was 2100 Lexington in Vernon.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday from the Chapel of the Sullivan Funeral Home with Howard Mitchell,, minister of the Church of Christ and Claud Guild, minister, Houston and Pease Street Church of Christ, officiating.  Burial will be in Eastview Memorial Park. 

Born May 17, 1884, in Erath County, she moved to Oklaunion with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Matt Harvey.  She married W. L. Smith at Oklaunion in 1812 [sic].

She was a member of Houston and Pease Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. E. A. Tidwell and Mrs. Grisham, both of Vernon; four newfews [sic], M. A. Rufus, Leslie and Earl Byars, all of Vernon.
