BROWN, MRS. LULA MALLARD (PATTERSON)

BROWN, Mrs. Lula Mallard (PATTERSON), 85 904 Central Avenue, died at a local hospital Saturday, 7:45am after an extended illness.  Survivors, husband, James V Brown, sons, Cecil Patterson, Bessemer, Walter Patterson, Trafford, Johnny Patterson, Douglasville, GA, Richard Patterson, Powder Springs, GA., Harold Patterson, Gadsden, daughters, Mrs. Jessie Whitmore, Mrs. Pearl Clark and Mrs. Novella Durham, all of Gadsden. Mrs. Jewel Hickey, Attalla, Mrs. Florence Riddlespurge, Bessemer, Mrs. Parlee Powerll, McKinney, Texas, sister, Mrs. Stella Walden, Douglasville, GA., 35 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be tomorrow 1:30pm at Collier Butler Chapel with the Rev. Raymond F. Feltman officiating.  Burial in Altoona-Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers, Dr. Hoyt G Lumpkin and employees of McGuffey Nursing Home.  Mrs. Brown was a native of Tennessee and a resident of Etowah County for the past year.  She was a member of the Church of God.  The body will remain at Collier-Bulter Parlors through the hour of service.  Source: The Gadsden Times, October 8, 1972 - Submitted by Renee Dey
