Vernon Heard

BIG SPRING (RNS) -- Vernon Price Heard, 56, a Big Spring postal clerk, died Friday morning in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.  Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Nalley-Pickle Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring.

Ralph Williams of the 14th and Main Church of Christ and J. B. Harrington of the West Highway 80 Church of Christ will officiate.  Burial will be in Memorial Park.

He was born June 6, 1917 and first came to Big Spring in 1936.

He was a clerk in the U.S. Post office in Big Spring.  He married Ioma Tatum May 22, 1950, in Fort Worth.

In 1956, he again moved to Big Spring from Midland.  He was a member of the Fourteenth and Main Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Marsha Biffle of Odessa, and Brenda Heard, a student at Texas Tech in Lubbock.

    Services were held Saturday 4 p.m. for Vernon Price Heard, 56, a postal clerk, who died Friday morning in a Lubbock Hospital.

    Funeral was at Nalley-Pickle Rosewood Chapel with Ralph Williams, minister of 14th and Main Church or Christ, and J. B. Harrington, minister of Highway 80 Church of Christ, officiating.  Burial was in Trinity Memorial Park.  

    Pallbearers were George Weeks, Orbin Daily, Charles Dickson, D. W. Pierce, Avery Falkner, Benny McChristian, Charlie Shanks an O. B. Kirby.
