Charlie W. Latimer

Charlie William Latimer, 55, died at 10:35 p.m. Thursday at Muscatine General Hospital following a sudden illness.  His home was at 616 Climer St.

He was born July 17, 1915, at Morrison, Tenn., the son of George and Jennie Lee Prader Latimer and had been a resident of Muscatine the past 21 years.

On June 19, 1937, he was united in marriage with Allie Watson at a ceremony in Tenn.  Mr. Latimer was employed at Thatcher Plastics Packaging.

He was a veteran of WW II.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Allie Latimer, at home; one son, James Edward Latimer, Muscatine, four daughters Betty Sue Latimer, at home, Elizabeth Faye Logel, Muscatine, Linda Kay Latimer, New Jersey, and Edna Jo Latimer, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Mary Lee) Page, Manchester, Tenn., and Mrs.Wyman (Josephine) Young, Atchison, Kan.; two brothers, Virgil Latimer and Kenneth Latimer, both of Muscatine; and six grandchildren.

His parents and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 7 o'clock tonight.
