MITCHELL EARL BRUCE

Funeral services for Mitchell Earl Bruce, 73, were held Monday afternoon in First Baptist Church.  Rev. Finis Steelman and Gary Maddox officiated.  A Masonic service was held.  Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery with Fox Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Raymond Lee, Shine Knight, Bill Roper, Gary Morgan, Arlin "Tuffy" Lee, Buck Wilson, Jim Saylor and Tom Bumgarner.

Bruce died March 16 at Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City.  He was born July 1, 1911 at Sturges, KY.  A retired welder, he moved to Davis in 1977 from Farmington, NM.  He married his wife, Hanna, Sept. 6, 1963 in Chickasha.

Survivors are his wife, Hanna; six daughters, Shirley Bright, Cherly Baugham, Rhonda Brumback and Brenda Watson, all of Arkansas City, KS, Marilyn Neuerburg of Newkirk and Janice Sparks of Davis; five sons, Bobby, Mervin and Gary, all of Davis, Donald of Arkansas City and Ronnie of Dallas, TX; one step-daughter, Barbara Blackburn of Springfield, PA., one step-son, Bobby Zeller of Amarillo, TX; three sisters, Dorothy Noble of Larned, KS, Ethel Lane of Pea Ridge, AR and Gladys Cunningham of Trenton, NJ; one brother, Alvin of Phoenix, AZ., 33 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
