 Winfield COWAN

Winfield Scott COWAN, age 80, of Yellville died in Marion County Hospital on Friday, May 14.  Mr. COWAN was born in Arkansas on Nov. 28, 1901 to Alex and Nora DOSIER COWAN.  A lifetime resident of Marion County, he was a self-employed carpenter.  Survivors include his wife, Evelyn CALLAHAN COWAN of the home; and one brother, Alex COWAN of Santa Anna, Calif.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 17 in the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Gregory officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers were Guy JEFFERSON, Walton JEFFERSON, Nin WOOD, Norman SMITH, Lester JEFFERSON and Harold DOSHIER.  Arrangements were under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Yellville.
