Carrie G. Carlson McCall Fresno Bee, The, November 6, 1986
Services for Carrie G. McCall, 77, of Fresno, the founder of the Las Palmas Nursery, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Stephens and Bean Funeral Service. Burial will be in Belmont Memorial Park. Mrs. McCall died Tuesday. She was born in Sweden and had lived in Fresno for 73 years. The Las Palmas Nursery is the oldest continuously operated nursery in Fresno. Mrs. McCall started the nursery and gift shop in 1948 and retired in 1967 when her son, Don, took over operation of the business. After her retirement, she remained active in her own gardening and in consulting. She was director of the Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Show in the 1950s and was a member of the Sunnyside Garden Club. She was a member of the Peoples Church. Surviving are two sons, Don of Fresno and Jerry of Carslbad; a brother, Walter Carlson of Illinois; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the chapel. The family requests that any remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society. Fresno Bee, The (CA) - Thursday, November 6, 1986
