Harold D. Nunn Sr.

HERINGTON -- Harold D. Nunn, 80, Herington, died Wednesday, July 29m at the Pratt Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Nunn was born Dec. 14, 1906, at Blackford, Ky.  He retired as a clerk with the Rock Island Railroad in 1971.  He then ran an antique and upholstery shop in Herington.

Mr. Nunn was commissioned as a Kentucky colonel by the Kentucky Governor in 1970 for volunteer work.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Kansas Lodge No. 307 A.F. & A.M., Kansas Chapter No. 73 and the Herington Commandry No. 53, all of Herington, the Isis Shrine of Salina and the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel of the home; a son, Harold D. Nunn, Jr. of Pratt; two stepsons, William T. Perry of Wood River, Ill., and James C. Perry of Joplin, Mo.; a daughter, Frances Hattabaugh of Pratt; a stepdaughter, Judith E. McGuire of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, John Douglas of Green Valley, Ariz.; five grandchildren;  and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Herington, the Rev. Ron Williams officiating.  Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.

Visitation is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Puryear-Brockmeier Chapel, Herington
