MULLVANE -- Wesley J. Wedel,64, died Dec. 10, 1991, at St. Joseph's Hospital Wichita. He was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Beaver County Okla., the son of Henry A. And Maggie Wiens Wedel. He attended Greenough school Turpin, Okla. A former Liberal resident, moving to Mulvane in 1980, he farmed, worked for Concrete Inc. for 15 years. Tradewinds Inc. for 9 years, and Beech Aircraft for three years before working for Boeing Aircraft. He was a member of the Calvary Mennonite Church, Liberal. On May 6, 1948, he married Betty J. Markrum at Perryton, Texas. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Michael, Mulvane; two daughters, Caroline Springer Lupton, Wichita and Debora Taylor, Liberal; two brothers, Arnold, Newton and Menno, Liberal; four sisters, Irene Reemer, Covina, Calif., Bertha Plett and Freda Isaacs, both of Turpin, and Anna Wichert, Buhler; nine grandchildren; one step-grandson; and one great granddaughter. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Calvary Mennonite Church, Liberal, with the Rev. James Richie presiding. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, both at Miller Mortuary, Liberal. Burial will be at Turpin Mennonite Cemetery, Turpin. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society in care of the mortuary. |
