Berti Ketner

Berti Gabriella Zehetmeier Ketner, 53, of Lubbock died Wednesday, Oct. 30 1996.  A memorial service will be at Texas Tech University at a later date.

Arrangements are under direction of Rix Funeral Directors.

She was born June 1, 1943, in Miesbach, Germany.  She attended Fischbachan village school, and she completed a private business high school in Munich.  She married Kenneth Laine Ketner.  She earned a bachelor's degree with honors in anthropology and a master's degree in museum science from Texas Tech.  She also earned a master's degree in library science from the University of North Texas.  She was admitted in candidacy into Tech's Ph.D in Fine Arts degree program, and she was working on her dissertation.  She was an active supporter of the President's Council at Tech.

She worked at the Tech Library where she was in charge of the conservaion lab.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Kenny of Lubbock; her mother, Magdalena Zehetmeier of Fischbachan; and two sisters Marlene Horn of Tuscany and Elizabeth of Munich;

The family suggests memorials to the Claude Ventry Bridges Memorial Fund, c/o Office of Development, Box 1081, Texas Tech, Lubbock  79409.
