REBECCA 'BECKY' BEARD

Rebecca "Becky" Beard, a certified public accountant, died Saturday of cancer at her home.  She was 49.  Mrs. Beard was born in Shelbyville, Tenn., and lived in Destrehan for the past five years.  She was a graduate of Shelbyville Central High School and the University of New Orleans.  She previously attended Middle Tennessee State University.  She was a former employee of Ernest & Young and Pailet Meunier.  She was a member of Hickory Knoll Church of Christ and Alpha Delta Pi.  Survivors include her husband, David Beard; two daughters, Jennifer DeLynn Hebert and Jacquelyn Lee Beard; four sisters, Kay Starr of Denver, Debbie Massey of Atlanta, Donna Bell and Bonnie Derk of Shelbyville.  A funeral will be held Monday at noon at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd.  Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday beginning at 10 a.m.  Burial will be private.
