Harry R. Snider Sr., 71, died unexpectedly Nov. 16, 1997. Born June 27, 1926, Mr. Snider was a lifetime resident of the Akron area. A Navy veteran, Mr. Snider retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 37 years of service. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Joppa Lodge 666 F&AM. Preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Snider; parents, Marshall and Bessie Snider; brothers, Leonard and Clark; and sister, Cora, he is survived by wife, Montse Snider; sons, Harry Jr. (Yvonne) of Speculator, N. Y., Thomas (Diane) of Jackson Township, William (Jocelyn) of Suffield, Gene (Maria) of Tampa, Fla., and Timothy (Rene') of Columbus; grandchildren, Shannon (Rich) Esber, Angie, Jonathon, Matthew, Emily, Micah, Mary, Michael, Tiffany, Jessica, Meghan, Laura, Christian, and Kyle Snider; great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Julia Esber; brothers, Jim (Eileen) of Portage Lakes, Jess (Juanita) of Florida; and sisters, Elizabeth (Jim) Pryor of Akron, Lou (Marvin) Capps of Wooster, and Susan (Don) Phoenix of Florida. There will be no calling hours. Cremation has taken place. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Shriners Hospital, c/o Tadmor Temple, 3000 Krebs Dr., Akron 44319.
