WATSON, Frances Burkett (circa 1917 - 1999)

McMinnville resident Frances Burkett Watson, 82, died Aug. 30 at river Park Hospital after an extended illness.  She was born in Warren County to T. L. Burkett and Minniesota Elrod.  A self-employed hair stylist until age 75, she graduated form the UT Institute of Cosmetology, was a member of the Barber Sharps.  She was also active in girl scouting, and the B&PW Club.  In 1961, she was named business professional woman of the year.  She is survived by sister, Laura B. Durham of McMinnville and nephews, Harold L. Durham of Nashville, Aaron L. Durham of McMinnville and Anthony D. Durham of Knoxville.  Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Julian Goodpasture officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 2:15 p.m. today.  High’s funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
