James L. Hodgkins, II Fort Worth Star-Telegram, November 16, 2000
FORT WORTH - James Lawrence Hodgkins II, 84, a lifelong resident of Fort Worth, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, in Fort Worth after a brief illness. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in Greenwood Garden Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. James Lawrence Hodgkins II was born Aug. 15, 1916, in Fort Worth. He was an independent grocer during the 1950s and upon retiring became an employee of General Dynamics. He retired after 20 years. In 1987, he was called out of retirement for a special assignment to Taiwan where he spent one year. He served seven terms as commodore of Lake Worth Boat and Ski Club and was a member for over 40 years. James was preceded in death by his son, James Lawrence Hodgkins III in October 2000. Survivors: Wife, Pat Hodgkins; daughter, Carol Morales of Azle; son, Chris Hodgkins of Eagle Nest, N.M.; daughter-in-law, Judy Brown Hodgkins of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many wonderful friends.
