1934-2000

A funeral for former McMinnville resident Donald D. Milbradt of Neotsu will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville.  The Rev. Doug Rose of the First Christian Church, McMinnville, will officiate.

Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville.

The funeral home will be open for visitation until 7 p.m. today.

Mr. Milbradt died Jan. 29, 2000, in his home. He was 65.

He was born July 18, 1934, in Burlingame, Kan., the son of Fred and Margaret Gabler Milbradt.  He lived in Topeka, Kan., until 1949, when he moved to Los Angeles with his parents.

He and Shirley were married Feb. 5, 1954.

Mr. Milbradt served in the National Guard from 1954 to 1962.  He lived in Sheridan from 1962 to 1967, when he moved to McMinnville.  Between 1962 and 1967, he worked as a policeman and also held jobs at Field Emission Research Institute and Linfield College.  He also ran his own transport business.  He worked for Cascade Tractor from 1986 to 1997.  He and his wife purchased a home in Neotsu in 1989 and began remodeling it.  The couple moved to the Neotsu house when he retired in 1997.

After completing his full-time service in the National Guard, he remained on part-time status as a member of the Oregon National Guard state rifle and pistol team.  He enjoyed outdoor activities, such as flying, boating and fishing; working with his hands, especially in woodworking; and socializing with friends.  He loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathleen Pratt of McMinnville; two sons, Donald V. Milbradt of McMinnville and Michael Milbradt of Eugene; a brother, Fred Milbradt of McMinnville; two sisters, Julia Johnston and Maxine Klarberg, both of Sun City, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, 135 N.E. Evans St., McMinnville, OR 97128.
