Mark A. Rafferty Manhattan Mercury, The, February 23, 2000
Mark Anthony Rafferty, 41, Manhattan, died Monday at his home of natural causes. He was born July 19, 1958 in Manhattan, the son of Calvin Patrick and Virginia "Gin" Morrison Rafferty. Mr. Rafferty was a graduate of Topeka High School in 1976. He attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence where he was a member of the TEK Fraternity. He was a restaurant manager. He began his career at the Comsar Brothers Restaurant in Cincinnati, Ohio. He also managed restaurants in Kansas City, Phoenix, Chicago and Manhattan. Mr. Rafferty was a member of the Catholic faith. Survivors include his parents of Topeka. Mr. Rafferty will lie in state after 2 p.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka. The casket will remain closed. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Capper Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy or Most Pure Heart of Mary Church, all in Topeka. Manhattan Mercury, The (KS) - Wednesday, February 23, 2000
