Rodney George Williams

Rodney George Williams passed away at age 69 on 20 Jul 2000 at Mount Grant general Hospital in Hawthorne.  Rodney was born in Eureka, Utah on 27 Sep 1930 to George Cecil Williams and Lavern Runnels.

He was raised in Rockford, Idaho and South Salt Lake City, Utah.  Rodney’s left hand was paralyzed in a childhood accident, but he never considered himself disabled in any way and always worked hard and never complained.

Rodney lived in Hawthorne for two years coming from Tonopah, Nevada.  He worked as a manager in Paint and Hardware stores.  He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Preceeding Rodney in death were his father, his wife Lorraine in 1974, and son Roy Galloway.  Survivors of Rodney are his daughters, Carilyn Llewellyn of Tonopah, Marilyn Beesley, of Yucca Valley, CA, and Lora Cox of Anaheim, CA; mother, Lavern Williams of St. George, Utah; son, John Holt of Hawthorne; sisters, Betty McCarty and Dawna Farrell, both of St. George, Utah; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Thursday, 27 Jul, at Hawthorne Cemetery.  Arrangements were under the direction of Gunter’s Funeral Home, Hawthorne.
