Mass of Christian burial for Charles A. Briggs, 77, Osage City, was Thursday, Dec. 27, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Osage City. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Osage City. Mr. Briggs died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at a Topeka hospital. He was born March 18, 1924, in Burlingame, the son of Alvin and Elma (Wells) Briggs. He graduated from Burlingame High School. Mr. Briggs farmed in the Scranton area before he moved in 1960 to Osage City. He worked at Jones Dairy and the Kansas Department of Transportation. He retired in 1986. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Osage City. He helped coach his son's baseball teams. He married Cora Mae Regnier on May 26, 1951, in Hodgeman County. She survives of the home. Other survivors include four sons, Jim, Hong Kong, Gary, Osage City, Tom, Burlington, and Mike, Gladstone, Mo.; four daughters, Jeannie Caswell, Olathe, Janice Smith, Eudora, Judy Hiskey, Lenexa, and Janie Warren, Silver Lake; two sisters, Arlene Peters and Norma Jean Harper, both of Topeka; and 18 grandchildren.
