Jean C. Gualtieri Burkett Salt Lake Tribune, The, April 22, 2001
TOOELE, UT - Jean C. Burkett, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away very peacefully April 20, 2001 after suffering a massive heart attack at her home. Jean was born in Tooele, UT March 14, 1927 to Emidio and Giusippina Gualtieri. She married James M. Burkett June 29, 1947 in St. Marguerite's Catholic Church, and spent the following 54 years by his side. During the past 15 years, she spent her winters in Tucson, AZ and summer months in Tooele. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and sister, and a valued member of her community. She raised two daughters during her lifetime and assisted in rearing a niece and numerous grandchildren. Jean also took care of anyone who happened to cross her path who needed assistance. There was always an open place at her dinner table. No one who knocked on her door was ever turned away. Jean's passing was sudden and unexpected. She is survived by her husband, James M. Burkett; daughters, Nancy Burkett Rosecrans, Joann Burkett Gelino; niece, Dianna Allred; granddaughters, Nicole Rosecrans, Jennifer Jean Gelino; grandnieces and nephew, Toni Smith, Brittany Jobe, Shane Allred; sisters, Elena Schmitt, Jemma Johnson, Ilda Smith, Millie Denney; and brother, Angelo Gualtieri. Services will be Wed. April 25, 2001, 11 a.m. at St. Marguerite's Church, 15 S. 7th St, Tooele, UT. Friends and family may call one hour before the funeral Wed. and Tues.
