Roy M. Hannah Daily Ardmoreite, The, November 28, 2001
Mr. Hannah was born May 10, 1918, in Orr, Okla., to the late Joseph Franklin and Lillie Mae Burkett Hannah. He died Nov. 27, 2001, at an Oklahoma City hospital. Roy graduated from Zaneis High School where he was a distinguished football player. He went to work for Shell Oil Company and then with Brown Ship Building. He served during World War II in the U.S. Navy. His ministry career began in 1949 in Ringling. During this time he also attended Abilene Christian College. His career took him to Henrietta, Texas, Healdton, Amarillo, St. Augustine and Dumas, Texas, Upton and Newcastle, Wyo., and back to Ardmore, where he was the hospital minister for Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ, then back to Ringling. He and Millie Cudd were married Nov. 8 1937, in Carter County. Survivors include his wife; a son, Roy Michael, of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Connie Hannah of Denver; two sisters, Ola Mae Wray of Oregon, and Ruth Lyons of Indiana; a granddaughter, Holly Michelle Bergbower; and a great-grandson, Fin Michael Bergbower. Bearers will be Jack Wilson, Kenneth Longest, Jay Thomas, Jim Woodson, Tom Weddle and Mark Wiley. Memorials may be made to the Pettijohn Christian Camp or Search Television Program.
