ETHEL JUSTINE LANE, born 2 ½ miles northeast at South Haven, Kansas on December 29, 1913 to George Wright Bruce II and Trannie Josephine Mitchell Bruce, departed this life, Monday, September 03, 2001 in Berryville, Arkansas at the age of 87 years.

Ethel attended school at South Haven, Kansas and Grainola, Oklahoma and Junior High School at Wellington, Kansas. During the 2nd World War she was an employee of Boeing Aircraft at Wichita, Kansas working on in board wings on the B-29. She was also an employee of Clarkson and Startz Aircraft at Wellington, Kansas. Ethel was married to Hubert Austin Lane on September 03, 1930. After moving to Green Forest, Arkansas in 1946 where they farmed for 35 years 6 ½ miles northeast of Green Forest. She was saved and baptized at the age of 16 years in Wellington, Kansas and she currently attended church at Sunny Side Baptist in Rogers, AR.

Survivors include, a son, Ronald Lane, grandson, Matthew Austin Lane and granddaughters, Cassandra Justine Lane and Renae Fields.

She was preceded in death by Gladys Cunningham; sister, Dorothy Noble; brother, Mitchell Earl Bruce; two infant daughters, Wanda LaVone Lane and Marjorie Louise Lane; her parents, George Wright II and Trannie Josephine Bruce; and her husband, Hubert Austin Lane.

Visitation was held from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel. Funeral service was 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 6, 2001 at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel with Pastor John Whitton officiating. Interment followed the service in the Farewell Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
