Memorial services for Mr. Steve Nelson Watson, 53, of Ontario, Canada, were held at Banks Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at 2 p.m.  Officiating was Bro. Greg Hibdon and Bro. Junior Hibdon.

Mr. Watson died Thursday, March 22, 2001 of an extended illness.  He was employed by the trucking industry.

Mr. Watson was born in Woodbury and was a former resident of Smithville and McMinnville.

Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Nelson and Bedie Emaline Vanatta Watson.

Survivors of Mr. Watson include: a daughter, Tamara Lynn Furgerson and husband Timothy of Murfreesboro; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Steven Patrick Watson and wife, Melissa of Murfreesboro, Jesse Nelson Watson and Thomas (Tom) Watson, both of Barrie, Ontario; three granddaughters, Kristin Michelle Furgerson, Tiffany Nicole Furgerson, and Megan Jeanette Watson all of Murfreesboro; sister, Elizabeth Watson Powell Griswold and her husband, Eddie of McMinnville; two brothers, J.W. Watson and wife, Loretta of McMinnville, Thomas Norman Watson and wife, Christine, of Smithville; former wife, Helen Watson Wruck; his estranged wife, Cathy Watson; present life companion, Sue Jensen; three aunts; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville was in charge of local arrangements.
