Bessie Eileen "Eileen" Wright Burkett

LEVELLAND — Services for Eileen Burkett, 83, of Lubbock with be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cactus Drive Church of Christ in Levelland with William Eudy officiating.

Burial will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors.

She died Saturday, March 23, 2002.

She was born July 8, 1918, in San Saba County.  She grew up in O'Donnell and moved to Portales, N.M., in 1959.  She also lived in Maple and Capitan, N.M., Levelland and Wolfforth before settling in Lubbock.  She married Jake L. Burkett on Jan. 1, 1935, in O'Donnell.  He died Feb. 20, 1993.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include four daughters, Betty Lee Kidd and Peggy Joyce Kosloskie, both of Lubbock, Julie Ann Hughes of Abilene and Debra Eileen Lamprecht of Belton; two sisters, Dorothy Lee Napper of Lubbock and Barbara Joan Baker of Mohave Valley, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
