Carol Ann Sullivan Jeffer

Carol Ann Jeffer, 60, died Saturday April 6, 2002 at a local Nursing Center.  Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 10 at The Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Joe Welsh officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South.

Carol Ann Jeffer was born in Paterson, New Jersey April 20, 1941 to John and Rita Placko.  She was raised in Midland Park, New Jersey and attended school nearby in Pompton Lakes.  She moved to Abilene in 1965 from Midland Park.  She ran the Kingston Club in Abilene for many years and worked at the State School for nine years.  She also worked at Mr. Gattis until her illness in December 2000.

Survivors include her father, John Placko, Jr. of Midland Park, New Jersey; one son, Dean Edward Sullivan and his wife Tracy of Abilene; one grandchild on the way; one sister, Nancy Eileen Bower of Abilene; one brother, John Michael Placko of Clifton, New Jersey, and several nieces and nephews.  Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Greco Placko, and one son, David Gerald Sullivan.

Visitation will be held Tuesday April 9, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elmwood Funeral Home.
