Myrtice Hart Mechaw Parker, daughter of Thomas Madison Hart and Margaret Elizabeth Wildman Hart.

Myrtice Mechaw Parker (15 September 1909 - 12 January 2003)

Funeral services for Myrtice Mechaw Parker, 93, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, John Gibson officiating, with burial in Bell Springs Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Parker died Sunday, Jan. 12 at Woodland Village Health Care.  She was born Sept. 15, 1909 in Morgan County to Thomas Madison and Margaret Elizabeth Wildman Hart.  She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Commodore J. Mechaw and Bascom Parker; three sons, Pete, Billy and Frankie Mechaw; a daughter, Ruby Harris; two daughters-in-law, Irene and Louise Mechaw; a sister, Lorene Drake; and two brothers, Madison and L.P. Hart.

Survivors include four sons, C.J. Mechaw Jr. of Battleground, Herman (Pat) Mechaw of Lantana, Fla., Guy Mechaw of Tampa, Fla., and James (Mary) Mechaw of Romeoville, Ill.; a son-in-law, Roland Harris of Lacon; three step-children, Edra Nell Covey of Wildwood, Fla., Ronald Parker of Eva and Margene Reid of Gardendale; a brother, Guy Hart of Vinemont; two sisters, Gwen McEwen and Mattie Barnett of Falkville; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
