Betty Arnold Averitt, 93, Clarksville, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Montgomery County Nursing Home.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Father Mario Burkowski officiating.  Burial will be in Wickham Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

She was born April 13, 1911, in Montgomery County, daughter of Enoch Tanner Wickham and Annie Yarbrough Wickham.  She was the widow of Lester Black and Pete Averitt.  She was preceded in death by a son, Freddy Ray Black.

Mrs. Averitt was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Earl Black and Bill Black, both of Clarksville; a daughter, Judy Jackson, Palmyra; four sisters, Mary Evans, Clarksville, Rita Johnson, Palmyra, Iris Schibig, Portland, Sister Justina, Cullman, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Black, Randy Black, Billy Black, Chuck Jackson, Travis Jackson, Billy Jackson and Johnathan Jackson.
