Eugene Martin Dame, 79, formerly of 3317 Commanche Place, Owensboro, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at the Riverside Manor Nursing Home in Calhoun. Born in McLean County on March 23, 1925, Mr. Dame was retired from General Electric and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II having served on submarines as a radio operator. He loved the outdoors, especially boating, camping and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Perryman Dame, in 1999. He is survived by a son, Mike Dame of Northport, Ala.; three daughters, Rebecca Jackson of Madisonville, Karen Adwell of Owensboro and Donna Hausmann of Seattle; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard Dame of Owensboro; and a sister, Anna Mae Dame of Utica. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 11 a.m. on Thursday.
