David M. Kelley San Jose Mercury News, February 18, 2004
David M. Kelley 64, a lifelong resident of the Bay Area died peacefully at his home on February 13th with family and friends after a heroic battle of complications from Parkinson's. Born July 27, 1939. Beloved husband of the late Malloy Kelley, and loving father of Michael and Patrick. Step-father to Janet Palmer and Rob Huston, and adoring grandfather to Jamie and Jonathan Willis. Caring father-in-law to Jennifer and Katrina. He is also survived by his mother, Faye Kelley. After graduating from Hillsdale High, David went on to obtain a masters in engineering with honors in 1961 from Stanford University. He had already started what would become a forty-year career in the missiles and space field with Philco Ford. Although the division was sold several times from Ford to Ford Aerospace to Loral and eventually to Lockheed Martin, David's loyalty to his work never changed. David took great pleasure in traveling, golfing, playing poker, and enjoying the holidays with his family and friends. He was also proud of his association with his church and the roles he held in support of the church. His devotion of time to his family, friends, and church was unparalleled. He will be deeply missed by all. Friends are invited to both visitation Thursday, February 19th, 2004 after 6 p.m. at LIMA FAMILY MORTUARY at 1315 Hollenbeck, Sunnyvale, CA 94087 and a memorial and celebration of David's life on Friday, February 20th, 2004 at 3 p.m. at West Valley Presbyterian Church at 6191 Bollinger Rd., Cupertino CA 95014. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to West Valley Presbyterian Church Organ Fund at the address above. San Jose Mercury News (CA) - Wednesday, February 18, 2004
