Martha Lynn Murphy

The funeral for Martha Lynn Murphy, of Hendersonville, Tenn., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hendersonville  Funeral Home with Doug Varnardo and Gidget officiating.  Burial will follow a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs.. Murphy was a graduate of Lee High School in Huntsville and was a former owner of The Iron Horse clothing store in Athens.  She had also worked for Durham Advertising in Huntsville and was a salesperson for Harvey's Furniture in Goodlettsville, Tenn.  She was a member of Community Church in Hendersonville and was an active member of the Fresh Start women's ministry.  Three years ago she launched a business called "The World is Life Scripture Art."  Her works are on display at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville and Family Christian Bookstore in Goodlettsville.  Before moving to Hendersonville, Ms. Murphy lived in Athens and was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School classes for children. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Teague and Cecil Eugene Teague.

She is survived by two sisters, Ann Buchanan and Kathy Enfinger, two nieces and two nephews.
