Virgil R. Cooper
The Arizona Republic on 5/12/2005 COOPER, Virgil R. Virgil R. Cooper, 89, a longtime resident of Arizona passed away Monday May 9, 2005. Virgil was born in Fillmore, Utah October 24, 1915. He was World War II Naval Veteran. His wife Ruby and his son Daniel preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters Lela Elaine Zellner who resides in Colorado, and Glenda Strickland of Phoenix. His surviving sisters are Yvonne Jones, Sun City, CA; Theone Hamblin, Mesa; Virginia DeWitt, Mesa; and Cleo Nichols, Las Vegas. Virgil had 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He farmed and ranched for many years, before retiring as a Real Estate agent in Phoenix. He acquired the rank of Eagle in his Scouting days, and worked with the youth in scouting for several years. He loved his family and enjoyed life to the fullest extent. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. with graveside service Friday, May 13th, 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix.
