Robert E. Jackson Sr., 71, of 1918 Merriewood Drive, Owensboro, died Friday, May 20, 2005, at his home. He was born May 17, 1934, in Daviess County and retired from General Electric as a machinist. He was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church and enjoyed playing guitar and reading, watching University of Kentucky basketball, gardening and being with his grandchildren. Survivors include Patricia Jackson; a son, Bobby Jackson and his wife, Peggy, of Utica; three daughters, Kim Collignon and her husband Steve of Owensboro, Karen Clouse and her husband Dennis of Owensboro and Robin Hardesty and her husband Mike of Newman; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Ed Jackson and his wife Mary of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Melissa Daugherty, Stephanie, Nikki and Holly Jackson, Crystal and Josh Clouse, Rhea Collignon and Natalie and Michael Hardesty; and great-grandchildren, Kaleb Daugherty and Luke Jackson. Services are at noon Tuesday at Immaculate Catholic Church with the Rev. Timothy Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Magdelene Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
