Lorelle Martin

MARTIN, LORELLE Lorelle Martin, 75, died Sunday, May 29, 2005, of heart failure.  Born Dec. 29, 1929, in Galveston, Texas, [Birth certificate shows Sherman, Grayson Co., TX] she lived in San Diego for 60 years.  She was crowned "Miss San Diego" in 1949.  She was "Fairest of the Fair" at Del Mar in the late 40s.  She enjoyed poker, baseball and fishing.  Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her mother, Jodie Lyons, in 1996, and father John Lyons in 1981.  She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law,  Mark and Dale Martin of Vista, Robin and Leslie Martin of San Marcos, and granddaughter Dana.  A Memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Glen Abbey, Chapel of the Roses, in Bonita.  In lieu of flowers, the Family suggests donations to Sharp Hospice, PO Box 3739, La Mesa, CA 91944.  Telophase Cremation is handling arrangements.  Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com

Note:  Lorelle was a stepdaughter of John E. Huckaby and was the daughter of John's second wife.
