Idelle Thompson Blankenship Find A Grave/Herald-Citizen Newspaper, January 3, 2006
COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Idelle Thompson Blankenship, of Cookeville, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Blankenship died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, in Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born Sept. 23, 1921, in Statesville to the late Elias and Angie Thompson. Mrs. Blankenship was a homemaker and was retired from Cain Sloan Dept. Store. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Her family includes a son and daughter-in-law, Bill R. and Carole Blankenship of Antioch; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Steve Hertzfeldt of Cookeville; a granddaughter and her husband, Jenny and John Paul Holmes; three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Connor and Katie Holmes; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Thompson and her husband Jay of Florida and Jewell Thompson of Lebanon; a brother-in-law and his wife, Bob and Beverly Blankenship of Murfreesboro; special nieces and nephews Bobby and Kenneth Harvey, Dorothy and Karl Sadler, Bobby and Joan Harvey and Kenneth and Nancy Harvey, all of Watertown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billie R. Blankenship; three brothers, Charlie, Johnny and Billy Thompson; a sister, Carmine Harvey; a brother-in-law, Woodrow Harvey; and a sister-in-law, Louise Beard. Pallbearers will be Frank Title, Dwight Suiter, Jerry Gaw, Bob Vick and Richard and Keith Sadler. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund. Pastors Charlie Hutchinson and Randy Atkinson will officiate the services. |
