Myree Phillips Casper Salinas Californian, The - (May/12/2005)
Wednesday, May 11, 2005 Myree (Phillips) Casper Myree (Phillips) Casper, 84, of Salinas, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Ridge Care Center in Salinas. She was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Cushing, Okla., and lived in Salinas for 30 years. She was a telephone operator in the mid-1950s and a culinary worker for the Union Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev., for 33 years. Myree enjoyed gardening, planning estate sales and spending summers with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Vennie Phillips; brother, Cecil Phillips; and sisters, Ada Geer, Mary Owens and Goldie Galzan. Survivors: Sons, Raymond (Gail) Bowman of Salinas and Lawrence (Patricia) Toney of Santa Rosa; daughter, Donna Bowman of Gilbert, Ariz.; brother, Johnny W. Phillips of Sacramento; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Services: Private family graveside services will be held at Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 768 Abbott St., Salinas.
