Betty Tom Bott'r Clark Obituary

Funeral for Betty Bott'r Clark, 76, of Rusk (Atoy community) will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Roland Alsobrook and Rev. Ike Roberts officiating.  Burial will be in the Atoy Cemetery.

Mrs. Clark died Saturday, Feb. 25, at her residence.  She was born on May 17, 1929, in Oklahoma City, Okla.

She grew up in Denton.  Shortly after the end of World War II, she met and married William Clark of Brownwood.  Eventually, her younger sister, Martha married William's brother, Robert.  Since the death of her sister, Martha, 22 years ago, Betty has served as matriarch of the combined Clark family.  In the late 70s, Mrs. Clark had a short career in retail accounting.

Since retiring to Atoy, she has been a member of the Texas Lone Star Ladies, an investment club.

She also volunteered at Rusk Elementary School for eight years and was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 1994, and VIP for 1995 and 1996.

Preceding her in death are two sisters, Peggy Pritchett, and Martha Clark; her father and mother, Fred and Naomi Bott'r.

Survivors are her husband of 58 years, William Lloyd Clark; four children and spouses, Michael L. and Patricia Clark of Colleyville, David A. Clark of Angleton, Thomas D. and Diane Clark of Wolf City, and Cynthia A. Clark Baldwin of Rusk (Atoy); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Robert J. Clark, and six nieces, one nephew and many great-nieces and great nephews.  Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the Cancer Society or Rusk Elementary School.
