Ivan Klarberg Funeral services for Ivan Klarberg of McMinnville will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors. The Rev. Jim Peterson will officiate. Viewing will run noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, in the chapel. Interment is planned at Evergreen Memorial Park in McMinnville. Mr. Klarberg died at home on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006. He was 87. Born in Bloom, Kan., on Sept. 5, 1918, he was the son of Charles and Annie (Williamson) Klarberg. After graduating from Burlingame High School in 1936, he attended the Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Mo. He married Maxine Milbradt on May 7, 1939. The couple moved to California in 1941, and he went to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was drafted into the Army and sent to Manila during World War II. After the war, he returned to work for the railroad. After his retirement in 1978, he and his wife moved to McMinnville. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing golf and playing cards with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Richard of McMinnville and Gary of Park City, Utah; two daughters, Karen Lionello of Anaheim, Calif.. and Joyce Buonauro of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a brother, Carl of Scranton, Kan.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
