Daniel Basil Banks Sr., 90, of Huntsville died Sunday.  Mr. Banks was born in Coffee County, Tenn., on Aug. 12, 1917.  He was active in the real estate business in the 1950s and 1960s as a partner in Banks & Fann Realty Co.  After retiring, he enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Canada in his RV.  Mr. Banks was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Sertoma Club, Elks Club, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. and Grace Banks; two brothers, Carl and Cliff; and two sisters, Velda Lyle and Minnie Morrow.  Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mildred T. Banks; son, Daniel B. Banks Jr. and wife Jennifer; granddaughter, Page Ann Banks; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.  Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Berryhill Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice.

Sympathy is extended to Mildred (wife of Basil), Danny (son) and Jennifer (daughter-in-law) - we love you.

Basil Banks passed away last night at Huntsville Hospital.  The funeral will be at Berryhill Funeral Home (just south of Spry Funeral Home) on Memorial Parkway in Huntsville. Visitation - Wednesday (Nov 28) from noon until 2 p.m.

Graveside service at Maple Hill Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.  Arrangements are pending but will probably be visitation just before funeral on Wednesday.

Be in prayer for Mildred - she is in the hospital with pneumonia.  Danny and Jennifer have been so very faithful to tend to Basil and Mildred for quite some time now.

Mildred is the cousin of "Buddy" William Burkett.  Her Mother was Ovie Burkett Majors (sister of Buddy's Dad - J.B. Gentry Burkett).  Mildred is a Great Great Great Granddaughter of Henry Burkett Sr.
