Johnny W. Tissaw The Arizona Daily Star, February 23, 2007
was born in Clemenceau, Arizona on December 4, 1929 and lived to February 16, 2007. Johnny experienced life to the full with his loving wife Judy, and children Pam and Randy Cahoon, Toni Tissaw, Karin and Steve Darley, John (Scooter) and Brenda Tissaw and Jennifer and Joe Kinman and Juan Rodriguez. Completing the family; his grandchildren, Travis Darley, Taylor Darley (wife Melodie), Lauren Darley Hamm (husband Tim) and two great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn Kinman and Ryder Hamm. Johnny fulfilled his dream of coaching basketball throughout Arizona, in Snowflake, Cottonwood, Thatcher, and in Tucson at Amphi High School. From 1966-1978 he coached at Canyon Del Oro High School where he won back to back State Championships in 1977 and 1978. He also felt that each of his basketball players were truly adopted sons. Johnny gave all of us many fond memories, taught us lessons in life and sang us sentimental songs which will remain in our hearts forever. A celebration of Johnny's life will be held at Corona Ranch on Friday, February 23rd from 500 - 1000 p.m. Corona Ranch, 7595 E. Snyder Rd. Tucson 85750. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the "Johnny Tissaw Basketball Camp Scholarship" at Compass Bank or personally accepted at the "Celebration of Life".
