Mrs. Judy E. Weiss, 55, of Kingsford Heights, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at 11:20 a.m. at her home. She was born Aug. 31, 1951, in Paris, Ill., to Virgil and Thelma (Scott) Simons. Mrs. Weiss retired in 2006 as a teacher’s aide and cafeteria worker from Kingsford Heights Elementary School. She was a member of La Porte Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading and floral gardening, and loved the outdoors. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. On July 13, 1967, in Carmi, Ill., she married Raymond Weiss, who survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Angela (Bill) Kane and Amy, both of La Porte, and Lisa Albertson, Nicole (David) Webb and Kristine, all of Kingsford Heights; three sons, Ray Jr., Joe and Mike, all of La Porte; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Smith of California and Nancy Burohs of Rolling Prairie; and one brother, Virgil Richard Simons of Texas. Her parents and one son preceded her in death. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at La Porte Church of Christ with Rev. John Haferkamp officiating. Friends may call at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, La Porte, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the service.
