Beaver, Mary E. 'Reba'(nee Rodgers), Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Beloved wife for 67 years of Lee Beaver Jr.; dear mother of Douglas (Jan) Beaver of O'Fallon, MO and Betsy (Jerry) Brear of Pueblo, CO; grandma of Doug (Elissa) Beaver, Amy (Matt) Murphy, David and Kathy Yarborough, Bonnie (Daniel) Fish and Angie Brear; great grandma of Grant, Macy, Madison, Olivia and Allyson. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, two sisters and two brothers. Reba was born Feb. 3, 1916 in Louisville, KY. She attended Baylor University and was then offered a private secretary job for the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce in St. Louis, MO where she worked for 3 years. She taught married young women's Bible study class and worked with junior boys and girls and was also active in various local and state Baptist activities. Reba was President of MO Baptist Hospital Auxiliary 1970 and 1971. For 22 years she was on the Board of Directors of the National Assn. of State Garden Clubs. She conducted 2 landscape design schools at UMSL and 1 at the MO Botanical Gardens as well as 1 in Mexico City, Mexico. She was on the Board of Directors of the MO Baptist Children's Home serving as Treasurer for 1 year.Services: Funeral service at First Baptist Church of Ellisville, 137 Clarkson Road, Monday, 11:00 a.m. Interment private. If desired, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Ellisville or MO Baptist Medical Center Cancer Center. Visitation Sunday 4-8 p.m. and at the church Monday 10-11 a.m. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.
