Alice Carol Gaar

Alice Carol Gaar, 77, of Tallahassee, Fla., passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.  Alice loved reading, traveling and painting,  She had a huge love for animals and the beauty of nature.  She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi sorority.  Miss Gaar retired from Florida State University as a librarian.  

She received her bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University, [class of 1950-51] her master's from Columbia University and her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina [1979].  She is survived by various cousins.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leon County Humane Society, Echo Outreach Ministries or the Tallahassee Museum.
