Fountain "Fount" Pitts Hackney

Fountain "Fount" Pitts Hackney, age 75 of the Leanna Community, passed away Friday, February 22, 2008 at his residence after an extended illness.  A native and life long resident of Rutherford County, he was owner and operator of a Volkswagen repair shop, a self-employed heavy equipment operator and a member of a local Baptist Church.

Mr. Hackney was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Virgie Barrett Hackney; brother, Edward Hackney and a sister, Stella Parsons.  He is survived by his sons, Tim Hackney, Todd Hackney and Terry Hackney, all of Murfreesboro; sister, Gerline Patton; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grand-children.

Funeral service for Mr. Hackney will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Rev. Ron Byers and Alvin Byers officiating.  Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN, (615) 893-2422.
