Hilda Johnson

Hilda Johnson, 65, formerly of Woodburn, recently of Sandpoint, Idaho, died March 2, 2008.  Born March 12, 1942 in St. Pius, N.D., she moved to Woodburn in 1947 and to Sandpoint 15 years ago.

She was married to Eldon Johnson in 1966.

She is survived by husband, Eldon Johnson; daughter, Kimberly Geibel of Spokane; son, Chuck Johnson of Wilsonville; brothers, Tex Sticka of Salem, Jay Sticka of Portland, Barney Sticka of Portland, Tim Sticka of Woodburn, Frank Sticka of Sydney, Australia; sisters, Angie Lambert of Aurora, Bernadette Ferraro of Lebanon; and five grandchildren.

A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. March 7 at Coffelt Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. March 8 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sandpoint.  Arrangements are by Coffelt Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sandpoint, Idaho, for Hilda Johnson, who died March 2 of lung cancer at age 65.  Recitation of the rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, in Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint.

Hilda Sticka was born March 12, 1942, in St. Pius, N.D., and moved to Woodburn as a child.  She was a homemaker. She moved to Sandpoint in about 1993.  In 1966, she married Eldon Johnson.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Kimberly Geibel; son, Chuck; brothers, Bede "Tex" Sticka, Barney Sticka, Jay Sticka, Tim Sticka and Frank Sticka; sisters, Angie Lambert and Bernadette Ferraro; and five grandchildren.

Hildegard M. Johnson, age 65, died at her home in the Bitterroot mountains above Sandpoint Idaho, on a beautiful snowy morning, Sunday March 2nd 2008, following a courageous six year battle with cancer.  Hilda was born March 12th, 1942 in Stark County, North Dakota to the late John and Rose Sticka.  Her family moved to Woodburn, Oregon in 1947 where she was raised with her 9 brothers and sisters on the family farm.  In 1960 she married Raymond Brumbaugh (deceased) and had two children.  She later wed Eldon Johnson on December 30th, 1966 and together they raised her two children in Sherwood, Oregon.  They moved to a small farm in Aurora in 1981 and finally retired to Sandpoint, Idaho in 1991.  She was a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sandpoint where she served with the Altar Society, and helped out at the soup kitchen.  She enjoyed gardening and reading as well as entertaining for her many friends on the mountain.  She is survived by her husband Eldon, her two children Kimberly Geibel of Spokane, Washington, and Charles Johnson of Wilsonville, Oregon.  She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Marissa Zocco, Ryan Johnson, Dakota Johnson, Jessica Geibel, and Rebecca Geibel.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 8th, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 615 Oak Street, Sandpoint, Idaho.  There will be a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 7th, at Coffelt Funeral Service, 109 N Division, Sandpoint, Idaho.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society on Hilda’s behalf.
