Obituary of Shane Krise

Shane E. "Melvin" Krise, 54, of Gorin, Missouri formerly of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2008 at the University Hospitals and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  Casketbearers will be Ryan Miller, Ricky Miller, R. T. Lethcoe, Kody King, Dustin Elder, LeRoy King, Danny Moore, Andrew King, Sandra Shannon and Tim Pierce.  Honorary Casketbearers will be John Bryant, Kyle Henricksen, Alex Stewart, Mickey Krise, Buddy Krise, Danny Krise and Jake Fisher.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery will full military rites by the combined units of the V.F. W Post 1565 and the American Legion Post #27.  Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room.  Visitation for Shane will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Shane.  Sympathy notes may be left for the Krise family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Shane E. Melvin Krise was born on June 4, 1953, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Daniel M. and Gladys (Lanfier) Krise.  On September 10, 1971, Shane was united in marriage to Debra Janette Boyd in Washington State, they later divorced.  On September 11, 2001, Shane was united in marriage to Gale Coppinger in Scotland County, Missouri.  Shane served his country in the United States Army and retired after twenty-two years of service.  He was a member of the V. F. W. of Scotland County, Missouri.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, teasing his father, collecting various items, particularly coins, but most of all he dearly loved to spend time with his family.

Shane will be deeply missed by his wife, Gale of Gorin, Missouri; seven children, Shawna Laymon and her husband, Rocky J., of Gorin, Missouri, Shannon Adams of Wyaconda, Missouri, Sharra Krise of Muscatine, Shane E. Krise, Jr. and his wife, Jonnette Ott, of Wyaconda, Missouri, Shiloh Krise of Gorin, Missouri, Shaina Ward of Muscatine, Iowa and Chris Koopmann of Gorin, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; his parents, Daniel M. and Gladys Krise of Muscatine; and eight siblings, Penny Yordt and her husband, Donny, of Muscatine, Candy Bass and her husband, Boot, of Gorin, Missouri, Ginger Krise and special friend, Jay, of Muscatine, Danny Krise and his wife, Mary, of Muscatine, Buddy Krise and his wife, Leah, of Muscatine, Rosie Krise and special friend, Sandy, of Gorin, Missouri and Mickey Krise of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Rosetta Lanfier.
